IUI Clinic In Kolkata
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) may be a treatment if you’re having trouble becoming pregnant. It’s also known as artificial insemination, and it’s less invasive and less expensive than IVF. IUI Clinic in Kolkata is often the first assisted reproductive technique recommended by doctors for many couples.
Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) is injecting sperm directly into a woman’s uterus with medical aid. IUI aims to increase the quantity of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes, increasing the odds of fertilization and, as a result, conception. As the processed sperms are injected directly into the uterus it bypasses the vaginal cavity that sperms have to travel in case of natural conception. IUI treatment cost in Kolkata is also minimal. It can be used to treat the following disorders as a fertility treatment:
If you’re experiencing infertility for no apparent reason
If you’ve had prior cervical surgery that makes it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and fallopian tubes,
If you have scar tissue on your cervix, the sperm’s ability to reach the uterus and fallopian tubes may be reduced
If you have a cervical disorder that could prevent you from getting pregnant, such as cervical mucous difficulties.
If your spouse has ejaculation problems, a low sperm count, poor motility (movement), or poor morphology.
If you’re trying to conceive using donor sperm.
IUI Treatment In Kolkata
The Treatment Methodology
If you’re having IUI treatment, the steps below will walk you through what to expect.
Step 1: Monitoring your cycle
We will track whether you have a natural menstrual cycle (no drugs to stimulate the ovaries) or a cycle that includes fertility drugs. To find the optimal time for your IUI treatment, we will look at your hormone levels, follicle numbers and development, ovulation, and endometrial lining.
Step 2: Ovarian Stimulation
To increase the chances of conception, we recommend IUI with ovarian stimulating medications. Medications may include Clomid (clomiphene citrate), Letrozole (Femara) and/or any injections like FSH/HMG/hCG — However, each patient case is unique, based on your hormonal and medical profile.
Step 3: Sperm Washing
Sperm are washed during a process known as “sperm washing,” in the laboratory. This is done to ensure that the most viable and energeticspermare used for insemination, which can affect the IUI procedure’s odds of success.
Step 4: Day of IUI Treatment
The IUI process is timed according to your ovulation with careful monitoring. The sperms will then be injected into the uterus using a catheter or a thin flexible tube. This precise procedure ensures that a greater quantity of fast-moving sperm reaches the egg. Doctors may then give you progesterone (by injection or vaginal suppository) to help you conceive.
Step 5: Test for Pregnancy
You will have a blood test two weeks following the IUI treatment (known as the “two-week wait”) to check your HCG levels and determine if you are pregnant. If the test comes back positive, you’ll have your first ultrasound scan two weeks later. If your cycle (menses)crosses 5 days over the previous date then you can go for the home pregnancy test and consult your doctor.
